In 2007, our university was the first in Hebei Province to cooperate with Kathmandu University of Nepal to construct the first Confucius Institute, a teaching and research agency promoting Chinese language and culture around the world. In 2010, the university worked with Zambia University to launch a Confucius Institute there. These Confucius Institutes cultivate many language students that sets up a bridge of friendship through Chinese language.
Since the Confucius Institutes at Kathmandu University of Nepal and University were founded, these two Confucius Institutes have made great contribution to the spreading of Chinese culture and the friendship among China, Nepal and Zambia, in the aspects of Chinese language teaching, the promotion of Chinese culture, teachers’ training, exploration of testing, selection of scholarship winners, training of practical skills, academic research, cooperation and communication. Therefore, the Confucius Institutes become as the predominant window to Chinese language learning and Chinese culture for the people of Nepal and Zambia.
