Staff of HUEB was Invited to Join "China and Central and East European Countries International Forum" Internatioanl Conference

In order to coordinate the Fifth Summit of China and Central and Eastern European Countries attended by Li Keqiang, Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China in November and advance “16+1 Cooperation ”, “China and Central and East European Countries International Forum---- Strengthen Communication for Prosperity” internatioanl conference was held in Riga, the capital city of Latvia on the local time November 4th, co-sponsored by Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, 16+1 SRTN, Latvia's Foreign Ministry and Latvia's International Affairs. More than 100 people attended this conference including senior officials and well-known experts and scholars from European Union and embassies and consulates in Europe. Dean of IES , Executive Deputy Dean of IBRIC of HUEB , Professor Cheng Jian and Professor Liu Haiyun of IBRIC of HUEB were invited to join the conference.

Representatives present at the meeting had a broad and in-depth exchange of views on how to promote development of CEEC, how to push the communication of infrastructure construction and how to promote cultural exchanges these three issues of common concern. Cheng Jian was invited to deliver a speech with the topic of analyzing China and CEEC national cultural exchanges according to culture measurement system of Peter Hofstede. He analyzed the problems in culture exchanges from politics, economy and culture and gave some suGGestions from the six dimensions of Peter Hofstede. After the meeting, Cheng Jian did the interview with local media.

This conference promotes the communication among HUEB, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and other well-known research institutions. It is also a breakthrough for IBRIC of HUEB. It has an important driving effect to continuously promote 16+1 cooperation study and expand the CEEC international market.
