On Novermber 15, 2014, international students from International Education School of Hebei University of Economics and Business visited Hebei Museum and Hebei Folk Arts Museum. They were impressed by the long history and diverse culture of China.

It is late autumn in Shijiazhuang where the blue sky and yellow leaves show their figures in the water. IES students took bus cheerfully to visit the museums. In Hebei Museum, they walked by more than 142,000 pieces of historic antiques exhibited in four separate areas and were interested by the clothes made of jades and gold. They also watched with wide-opened eyes at the orthography on those china bottles and lamps. “I am surprised by those delicate handcrafts. Chinese ancients were so smart,” Francesco Tasi from Samoa told other classmates. From Hebei Musem, they turned to Hebei Folk Arts Museum.

Exquisite relics there present the unique folk culture in Hebei. The vivid human and animal figures paper-cut by scissors and old furniture made thousand years ago attracted all international students. “I would love to learn how to cut those beautiful figures,” Rahda Khadgi from Nepal said.

On the way back, they excitedly shared their feeling of these visits and expressed their desire for the next visit. Apparently the exhibitions of Hebei Museum and Hebei Folk Arts Museum improved their understanding of Chinese history and cultrure.
